LinkedIn's Continuous Deployment (LCD) platform

Rahul Gade will detail the design and scalability of LinkedIn’s Continuous Deployment platform (LCD), which serves over 10,000 engineers. The platform was built with three key personas in mind (admins, partners, and users) and was designed to drive adoption, accelerate innovation, and streamline integration. Rahul will highlight how the action model for partners played a pivotal role in these outcomes. The talk will also explore how strong default configurations, such as touchless and canary deployments by default, contributed to site stability by preventing parallel deployments across fabrics. These enhancements led to a significant increase in touchless deployments - from 9% to 70% - and a 300% increase in deployment frequency. Additionally, Rahul will discuss the impact of no-code/low-code workflows on the user experience and share the challenges faced during the migration to LCD, offering insights on the key obstacles and solutions.
