Delivering a greenfield data platform with “togetherness” at its heart through a Team-of-Teams setup

In this talk, Maj-Britt Christensen will describe how Ingka (IKEA) used a Team-of-Teams approach when designing, developing, and delivering the Ingka Data Platform—a company-wide data platform built on Data Mesh principles. The talk will cover the familiar challenge of delivering high-quality solutions quickly while adhering to necessary architectural guardrails and governance standards in an enterprise setting. By integrating architecture, product, data, and engineering teams throughout the platform lifecycle, IKEA’s Team-of-Teams setup enabled efficient collaboration and the ability to navigate the many organizational and technical complexities of data platform delivery.
